The companion app for the Humber250 trail.
This two hundred and fifty mile circuit for car or cycle introduces you to the lands cut through by the Humber and to histories of the peoples who have lived here. The river Humber has long shaped the lives of people who live along its shores, in the East Riding of Yorkshire and in North Lincolnshire, encouraging trade and contact with the wider world, acting as boundary and border between north and south. The tour is designed to reveal the histories of the Lands of the Humber through sites of historical and natural history. You will find some of these sites close to the proposed route; others will require a short detour. The route is divided into geographical regions: ‘North Bank and Sea’, ‘Yorkshire Wolds’ and ‘South Bank’.
